Do you offer support for students with Special Needs?

At St Paul’s Catholic College, our approach to Diverse Learning is tailored to meet the needs of all students with varying learning requirements. We begin by identifying and assessing each student’s unique needs, then develop a personalised plan that incorporates necessary modifications to the standard curriculum.

These adjustments are diverse and carefully considered to ensure every student can fully engage with the coursework and reach their individual potential. Our goal is to provide a supportive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

When completing the Enrolment Application provide supporting documentation for additional learning needs in the relevant section.

Do you provide any Academic extension programs?

We have recently introduced an “Academic Extension” class for Year 7. This class will follow the standard curriculum however, they will be given additional extension and enrichment tasks in English, Humanities, Mathematics, and Science. This will allow students to deepen their academic talent in a collegiate atmosphere and develop leadership skills, personal confidence, and resilience. It is designed for high-achieving learners and includes:

  • Accelerated pace with fewer repetitions and clear instruction.
  • Complex and abstract tasks to promote higher-order thinking.
  • Collaborative learning with peers of similar academic goals.

Enrolled students are invited to sit the externally run test when they are in Year 6.
